What is a free consultation?
Brandon offers a free consultation to potential clients who have been terminated or suffered an adverse employment action, or who feel that a termination or other adverse action is imminent. A free consultation means that Brandon will speak to you over the phone or videoconference to hear the facts of your case and your desired outcome without charging you for his time. At the end of the meeting, Brandon will let you know whether he would like to take you on as a client. A free consultation also gives you an opportunity to speak with Brandon and decide whether he is the right attorney for you. An attorney-client relationship is a very important and potentially long-lasting one, and so it's important that both you and Brandon want to work together on your case.
If Brandon does take my case, what happens next?
If you and Brandon agree to work together, the next step will depend on the nature of your problem. Often, Brandon will contact your employer and try to resolve the problem on your behalf. In many cases, that will mean negotiating a monetary settlement, and in others it might mean getting a promise from your employer to stop the unlawful conduct. If your employer is unwilling to agree to your terms, or you prefer to resolve your dispute through litigation, then Brandon can file a legal action on your behalf in either a state agency or in court, depending on the nature of your legal claim. You will need to sign an engagement letter describing key elements of your engagement, such as the fee structure for your case (flat fee and/or contingency) and scope of representation, before Brandon can represent you.
What if I just need some quick legal advice?
Sometimes a little legal advice can go a long way. If you are dealing with a workplace issue and want an explanation of your legal rights, or advice in solving a discrete problem, Brandon provides legal conferences by video conference or by phone at flat hourly rates. Feel free to contact Brandon, and you can decide together whether a legal conference might be right for you.
